Greats Tips on How to Care for Your Feline

Although your feline may seem independent, it is a big deal providing her with all the things they need such as water, food, shelter, veterinary care, love, a clean litter, and a safe environment. If you’re planning to welcome a new cat in the family, then you have to prepare your children and instill love, care, and excitement in their hearts. It helps to research the various breeds of feline in the market today and determine the best furry friend that suits your family dynamic. Let’s learn several things on how you can best take care of your cat once she is home.

Keep your cat indoors because it is safer, walk her on harness and leash. When transporting your cat, make sure to always use a carrier. Make sure that all your windows at home are securely screened to prevent your feline from wandering. Always make sure that your washer and dryer are always closed because some cats love to climb in these appliances, and also check inside before using them. Make sure that your kitty is not lurking in your closets, drawers and cupboards so ensure you check them before closing. Keep your feline friend safe by putting on breakaway collar and ID with your name, address and contact information. There is always a chance that your cat may slip out your door no matter how careful you are, and your cat will get home safely because of the collar and ID. As a pet owner, one of the most important things you need to do for your cat is have her regularly checked by a veterinarian for proper vaccination and treatment for whatever condition your cat is experiencing. Meat is always the foundation of a healthy cat’s diet and it should always be present every day. Avoid feeding too much kibble to your feline because they’re highly processed food with low nutritional value, and they are often contaminated with feces, storage mites, fungus, and bacteria.

Since cats are naturally clean, they usually use a litter box, and all you have to do is show her where it is. Don’t upset your car by placing her inside the box and scratching her with her front paws. You can wash the litter box and scoop at least once a day. Your cat must be regularly brushed in order to keep her coat and skin healthy, also prevent matting and reduce hairballs and shedding. Grooming them yourself is one way to show you care and love for your cat.Fleas are your cats worst enemies, so it is important to get flea collars for cats.
